So are you ever sitting there trying to do something productive when you get a crazy idea to create something you don't have time for? Never? Well that is kind of the story of my life. However, this time, I had time for it and that's because these adorable yeti ornaments work up SUPER quick!!
How quick is super quick? As quick as Steps 1, 2, 3! Check out the details below! Let me know if you make some, I'd love to see them!! Also, I may be making some little brown yeti faces so I can make little sasquatch ones too so stay tuned.
Supplies Needed:
Hot glue gun and glue sticks (I used 1.25 glue sticks per yeti but I was making sure that yarn wouldn't give way in an avalanche or worse...my dog getting a hold of it.)
Lion Brand Go Fur Faux yarn or Yarn Bee Fur the Love yarn in a cream or white color
Smooth plastic ornament, can be any size but I find the 3" ones work best. You can find them in most craft stores or on Amazon.
Self Adhesive Faux Leather Yeti Face (can be found here in my shop)
Directions:
Step 1:
Remove cap of ornament, put a thick dot of hot glue at the top of your ornament, press beginning of yarn tail on here.
Step 2:
Working around your ornament in a downward spiral, lay about an inch of hot glue and then press your yarn onto it. Continue doing this until you reach the bottom. Once I reach the bottom I cut the yarn about an inch from where I finished and then hot glue the tail so that it blends in with the rest of the yarn.
Step 3:
You can replace the top cap of the ornament now. Place your yeti face near the center of your ornament. Since they are self adhesive you can just stick in place, press, and go. I like to make sure mine aren't going anywhere and use a couple dots of hot glue around the edges as well just to be on the safe side.
